Swipe File Best Practices
Save Selectively
Don't save everything. Focus on posts that:
- Teach you something new
- Use formats you want to master
- Are from your industry or adjacent areas
Tag Consistently
Use consistent tag names so you can find things later:
- Use singular forms: "marketing" not "marketing, mkting, mktg"
- Be specific: "linkedin-growth" not just "growth"
Review Regularly
Schedule time to review your swipe file:
- Weekly: Find content inspiration
- Monthly: Clean up irrelevant saves
- Quarterly: Identify patterns and trends
Take Notes
The "notes" field is valuable for:
- Why you saved this post
- What specific element to study
- Ideas for adapting to your content
