Swipe File Best Practices

Save Selectively

Don't save everything. Focus on posts that:

  • Teach you something new
  • Use formats you want to master
  • Are from your industry or adjacent areas

Tag Consistently

Use consistent tag names so you can find things later:

  • Use singular forms: "marketing" not "marketing, mkting, mktg"
  • Be specific: "linkedin-growth" not just "growth"

Review Regularly

Schedule time to review your swipe file:

  • Weekly: Find content inspiration
  • Monthly: Clean up irrelevant saves
  • Quarterly: Identify patterns and trends

Take Notes

The "notes" field is valuable for:

  • Why you saved this post
  • What specific element to study
  • Ideas for adapting to your content
