Troubleshooting Common Issues
Find solutions to common problems with LinkAssist.
Login & Authentication
Cannot Log In
Symptoms: Login button doesn't work, redirects fail, or you see authentication errors.
Solutions:

Clear browser cache and cookies
- Go to browser settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data
- Select "Cookies" and "Cached images and files"
- Try logging in again

Try incognito/private browsing
- Open a new incognito window
- Navigate to linkassist.ai
- Attempt to log in

Check LinkedIn account status
- Ensure your LinkedIn account is active
- Verify you can log into LinkedIn directly
- Check for any LinkedIn restrictions

Disable browser extensions
- Some ad blockers or privacy extensions interfere with OAuth
- Temporarily disable extensions and retry
If issues persist after trying all solutions, contact support@linkassist.ai with your browser version and any error messages.
LinkedIn Connection Expired
Symptoms: "LinkedIn connection expired" message, posts fail to publish.
Solutions:
- Go to Settings → Connections
- Click "Reconnect LinkedIn"
- Complete the OAuth authorization
- Verify connection shows as "Active"
Session Keeps Expiring
Symptoms: Frequently logged out, session doesn't persist.
Solutions:
- Check that cookies are enabled in your browser
- Whitelist linkassist.ai in any cookie-blocking extensions
- Avoid using multiple accounts in the same browser
- Try a different browser
Post Generation
Posts Not Generating
Symptoms: Generate button doesn't work, loading spinner never stops, or errors appear.
Solutions:

Check subscription status
- Go to Dashboard → Usage Stats
- Verify you haven't exceeded monthly limit
- Upgrade if needed

Verify onboarding is complete
- Go to Settings → Profile
- Check that all required fields are filled
- Re-save your profile

Try a more specific topic
- Vague topics may fail validation
- Provide specific, detailed topics
- Include context or perspective

Check your internet connection
- Generation requires stable connection
- AI generation may take 10-15 seconds
Generated Content is Poor Quality
Symptoms: Content doesn't match your style, is generic, or irrelevant.
Solutions:

Update your context
- Go to Settings → Profile → Edit Context
- Provide more detailed professional background
- Add specific topics you cover

Be more specific with topics
- Include your angle or perspective
- Add specific examples or data points
- Mention your target audience

- Let the AI analyze your actual writing

Use regenerate
- Click "Regenerate" for a new version

Scheduling & Publishing
Scheduled Posts Not Publishing
Symptoms: Posts stay in "scheduled" status past their publish time.
Solutions:

Check LinkedIn connection
- Go to Settings → Connections
- Reconnect if status shows "Expired"

Verify subscription is active
- Free plan has limited scheduling
- Check that your plan supports auto-publishing

- Go to Posts or Calendar

Wrong Time Published
Symptoms: Post published at unexpected time.

- Calendar shows times in your local zone
- Actual publish time may differ if zone changed
Duplicate Posts Published
Symptoms: Same content posted twice.
Solutions:
- Delete the duplicate from LinkedIn directly
- Check if you accidentally scheduled twice
- Contact support if it happens repeatedly
Chrome Extension
Extension Not Showing on LinkedIn
Symptoms: No LinkAssist icons appear on LinkedIn.
Solutions:

Verify extension is installed
- Click the puzzle icon in Chrome toolbar
- Check that LinkAssist is listed and enabled

Refresh LinkedIn
- Hard refresh: Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac)
- Wait for page to fully load

Check you're on linkedin.com
- Extension only works on linkedin.com domain
- Not on mobile or other LinkedIn properties

Reinstall extension
- Remove extension from Chrome
- Reinstall from Chrome Web Store
- Log in again
Extension Shows "Not Logged In"
Solutions:
- Click the LinkAssist icon in toolbar
- Click "Sign In"
- Log in with your LinkAssist credentials
- Refresh LinkedIn page
AI Comment Button Not Working
Solutions:
- Check subscription status (usage limits)
- Ensure you're logged into the extension
- Clear extension storage:
- Right-click extension icon → Options
- Click "Clear Data"
- Reinstall if issues persist
Billing & Payments
Payment Failed
Symptoms: Payment doesn't complete, error messages during checkout.
Solutions:

Check card details
- Verify card number, expiry, CVV
- Ensure billing address matches card

Check funds
- Verify sufficient balance
- Check for any card restrictions

Try different payment method
- Use UPI, net banking, or different card
- Some cards block international transactions

Subscription Not Activating
Symptoms: Payment successful but still on Free plan.

- Check email for payment confirmation
- Contact support with transaction ID
Invoice Not Received
Solutions:
- Check spam/junk folder
- Verify email address in Settings
- Download from Settings → Billing → Payment History
Performance Issues
Dashboard Loading Slowly
